Slow Crafts
What is slow crafts?
Slow crafts sessions are guided, relaxing creative classes where you use simple, repetitive handcrafts to unwind, slow down, and mentally reset. Think of it as a mix between a gentle workshop and a wellbeing ritual, where the focus is not on learning a perfect skill or finishing a product, but on the calming, hands-on experience of making.
It’s a space to arrive as you are and make something simply for the sake of making. No pressure, no perfection — just a tactile, calming, and quietly social experience. You can come regularly or drop in whenever you need a reset. Each session is designed as a small ritual to help you unwind, reconnect, and recharge.
How a session flows
You arrive and ease into the space with a cup of tea or coffee and a small snack. After about 15 minutes, we begin with a gentle guided movement — a short, light routine to release tension and reconnect with your body. From there, we move into around 45–60 minutes of making. There’s no rush to finish anything. In fact, you might not — and that’s completely okay. The focus is on the process: the rhythm of your hands, the feeling of being anchored in the moment.
What we’ll be making
We work with simple, repetitive, and soothing techniques that are easy to follow and satisfying to do.
– intuitive embroidery
– punch needle
– intuitive drawing & doodling
– sashiko stitching
– other slow, calming crafts
Each activity is chosen to be accessible, tactile, and to leave you with something small, imperfect, and quietly beautiful.
Sustainability
We’re mindful that small craft sessions can sometimes lead to a collection of unfinished or unused pieces. To balance this, you’ll always have the option to contribute to a communal project. These shared pieces will be slowly built over time, then displayed in the studio once completed. Later, they may be donated or auctioned, with any proceeds going to a chosen charity.
This way, your time and energy can also become part of something bigger, while still keeping the experience light, pressure-free, and meaningful.
